New York, NY July 24, 2007, - A Book Of Truth, A Book Of Lies, a feature film of METAFILM, LLC., has received a major endorsement from a world renowned intellectual Mr. Colin McGinn.

In a 2 hour video recorded interview with METAFILM on July 22nd where our film, Colin McGinn’s book “The power of Movies” and general issues of morality, knowledge and consciousness were discussed Mr. McGinn said among other things:

“I liked the film very much. If movie-watching experience is analogous to watching a dream A Book Of Truth, A Book Of Lies is a dream of an intellectual. It is rare to find and enjoy a film with such drama of ideas.”

The first portion of the interview that deals with Mr. McGinn’s impressions of A Book Of Truth, A Book Of Lies will be available as additional feature in our film’s DVD release later this year.

Colin McGinn is a distinguished analytic philosopher who famously advanced the “cognitive closure” approach to the mind-body problem. He currently teaches at the University of Miami. Mr. McGinn is the author of influential books on consciousness, knowledge and culture among which are “Shakespeare's Philosophy”, “The Power Of Movies”, “Mindsight: Image, Dream, Meaning” and numerous other.

A Book Of Truth, A Book Of Lies (2007, 112 min.) is an unconventional, provocative, high-dense psychological drama that tells the story of an atheist poly-amorous couple in a pre-9/11 NYC who are convinced that the single source of world problems is a human propensity to live by un-provable and misinterpreted causes including god, happiness, unconditional love, family values, human rights, etc. The protagonists’ encouragement of their lovers, family members and America itself to adopt a more critical and liberating vision of traditional values is met with ambiguity and growing tension. The collision ultimately takes a shape of the clash of civilizations.

The film has been steadily gaining momentum in the festival circles having been officially selected in 8 film festivals as of the end of July, 2007. In June it has won 4 prestigious Honorable Mentions from the 2007 Accolade National Competition in feature film, directing, leading actor and supporting actor categories. In July the film took 1st place in Comedy/Drama Feature category at the 2007 Indie Gathering Film Festival in Cleveland, Ohio.
